Following 12 months of dedicated behind-the-scenes collaboration with Motorsport Australia, Hyper Racer is proud to announce that the Hyper Racer X1 can now be log booked and raced as a circuit Racing Vehicle at Motorsport Australia Events. This decision marks an extraordinary milestone for Hyper Racer, opening the door to a vastly expanded roster of racing events and iconic venues across Australia.
The journey of the Hyper Racer X1 began in 2019 as a concept in a garage in Melbourne, Australia. Following two years of full-time development, the first customer cars were delivered at Winton Motor Raceway. In 2022, the X1 officially entered competitive motorsport, with a 4 round championship held exclusively at Winton Motor Raceway sanctioned by the Australian Auto Sport Alliance (AASA). 4 years on and the Championship is now a 6 round National category with grids of up to 20+ cars.
Since that inaugural season, the Hyper Racer has experienced exponential, unprecedented growth both in Australia and overseas markets. As of August 2026, the 58th X1 chassis has officially entered production. When combined with earlier production runs of the Hyper Pro Racer and Hyper Terra Racer, the company is rapidly approaching the monumental benchmark of 100 total race cars produced.
"The exponential growth we have experienced since 2022 is something no one here at Hyper Racer could have ever predicted," said Dean Crooke. "Reaching nearly 100 total vehicles produced is a huge milestone for us, and something that we and the entire Hyper Racer team is extremely proud of. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the AASA for providing the initial platform for the X1 to race and thrive, and to Motorsport Australia for working alongside us to ensure an even greater, more diverse future for the X1."
