The 'R' specification with its factory Yamaha specification engine and medium compound tyres, has been designed to provide a longer life for the primary consumables - tyres and engine. This translates to reduced running cost over a seasons racing. Hyper Racer Championships will require this specification be used.		The 'S' specification comes with a high performance engine specification and soft compound tyres. In the disciplines of Sprints and particularly Hillclimbs, the miles covered are less than in circuit racing. At Hillclimbs tyres must work with a minimum of warm-up time and as maximum power over short runs is desirable, some reduction in engine life compared to the 'R' spec engine is an acceptable trade-off.
