FIRST OFFICIAL INVITED DRIVER TEST

Apart from the regular test drivers Dean and Jon Crooke, five drivers sampled the new Hyper PRO Racer at Calder last Friday. Russ Occhipinti, Peter Howard, Michael Cullinan, Tony Bennett and Chris Jewell were all impressed with the PRO Racers ease of driving.

Superkart star driver Russ Occhipinti was beaming – “It feels like a Formula Ford, but with more grunt ... sounds awesome ... easy to drive ... smooth ride ... Nothing like a Superkart ... It does everything right ... The power and speed makes it very exciting to drive."

Ferrari 355 Challenge driver Tony Bennett – "That was incredible ... The POWER !! ... The BRAKES !! ... It's a great feeling after driving the Ferrari to know that you are caning the hell out of it and it's not costing you a fortune."

Porsche 944 series driver Michael Cullinan - "Speeds feel very like the 944 ... the brakes are unbelievable ... running costs are going to be a fraction of the Porsche costs ... and it might even fit in the back of my Territory." (Ed: Wishful thinking on that last point)

TEST FINDINGS
Over 70 laps were completed without incident other than a small intermittent misfire.
A 'Slipper Clutch' was tested with great success and will become standard fitment on all PRO Racers.
Tyre wear was perfectly balanced with an even wear pattern on all 4 tyres.
A new spec front master cylinder was tested - perfect.
Also a new exhaust and muffler was tested - also successful.
Eastern Creek gearing was fitted which meant that fast laps were driven without using 5th gear.

CONCLUSION
Apart from the body panels, the Hyper PRO Racer is now ready to go into production.

PRO RACER SERIES
A six round series in two states is being put together.
Interested drivers should get their order in for the first batch now, to avoid missing the start of the season.

MARKETING & PROMOTION
A public relations program is to commence with invited test drivers from the motoring / motorsport specialist media to to experience the PRO Racer for the first time.

DISTRIBUTION
Hyper Racer will soon be appointing distributors, with interest coming from Europe, New Zealand and within Australia.

NEXT TEST
Scott McLaughlin, the PRO Racers ambassador and link between karting and the PRO Racer, is scheduled to test the car on Friday at Winton.
